NUS Muay Thai has made their debut in the Lonsdale Inter-Varsity Muay Thai Compeition held at Singapore Management University (SMU) in Feb 2008. Sweat and great discipline had translated into a rewarding 3 gold and 4 silver medals result against schools like SMU, NTU and SP.

NUS Muay Thai is unlike the aerobic classes which combine aerobic and kickboxing to enhance one’s fitness. Rather, it emphasizes on the original Muay Thai training similar to that of Thailand but at an amateur level. However, one can be ensured that cardiovascular strengths will still be greatly enhanced when one practices their punches and kicks on the Thai Pads.

Weekly classes emphasize on Muay Thai techniques like punches, roundhouse kicks, elbows, knees and clinches. The experienced training instructor for the club is, Bruce, from FightG. Being an active fighter who competes in Muay Thai and other martial arts, he not only imparts knowledge on Muay Thai and also some techniques from other discipline outside lessons.

NUS Muay Thai has seen a good mix of male and female learners throughout the years and welcome all male or female learners, be it at beginner level or intermediate level, to join us if you are interested in Muay Thai as a great martial arts or sports, or merely the passion to stand on the ring and fight your guts out!

Normal training days and times:
Mondays: 6.30-8.00pm, MPSH 2 (Recreation and Fight Team)
Tuesdays : 6.30-8.00pm, MPSH 2 (Recreation and Fight Team)
Thursdays: 6.30-9.00pm, MPSH 2 (Fight Team)
