NUS Karate ChampsPosted on 27 Mar 10, 1:30amNUS, Sunday, March 21st, 2010 – In the recently concluded Karate Invitational (IVP) 2010 that was organised and hosted by the NUS Karate Sub-Club, the home team brought pride and glory to NUS yet again. The competition brought together talented teams from NUS, NTU and SMU. In the end, the NUS Karate Team emerged victorious by clinching the most number of medals for the first time ever. In fact, it amassed ALL the gold medals in the competition, a truly record-breaking feat! Team captain, Wong Jun Ming commented, “We had a very talented and dedicated team this year. Many months of tears and sweat finally bore results. There were many tough fights but no one gave up. I hope that the team will continue to grow and achieve the same results in the future”. Join us on 11th Dec 2009 (Friday) 6pm @ HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok and take your first step to being a marksman! Learn the art of shooting be it with an air pistol or air rifle and indulge in the satisfaction of hitting a bullseye! At the basic course, you will learn the basics of shooting and the safety procedures that all are required to know before you will be allowed to shoot in a shooting range. Wanna show everyone how accurate you can be? This is your chance! Hurry up and sign up with your friends now! The course is only open to the first 40 particpants! Basic Course fee: $5/- per weapon for AWC member $12/- per weapon for non-members. AWC Membership fee: $10/- per Academic year. Participants will be starting in Pasir Ris Park and Kayaking to Changi Beach for lunch, and back to Pasir RIs Park. Along the way, we will also be playing games out in the sea! There are 2 dates to choose from for the expedition, either 17th 0R 18th december, from 9am to 6pm. So you just have to choose ONE date! A minimum of ONE STAR kayaking certification is required. If you do not have any certification, you can sign up for our kayaking courses in December! One-star kayaking courses will be available on: 5th and 6th December 2009 12th and 13th December 2009 26th and 27th December 2009 (After Canoe Expedition 2009) There will also be two-star kayaking courses available on the 11th, 12th and 13th of December Missed our registration booth period?
