Project Directors Recruitment DrivePosted on 25 Oct 09, 10:20pmIf you're here, it only means three things: 1. You have the passion 2. You have the drive 3. You want to take the lead! And that's exactly what we're looking for! So you might wanna know what does a Project Director do? A project director is in-charge of the organizing the event! He'd be selecting his team of committee members and running the entire show! How cool is that! For those new with organizing events, this may be daunting but we'd be providing ample trainings and resources for you to learn and shine! This is definitely a platform for you to learn how to manage your time, how to work with people (the public, the committee, other leaders, sponsors, NUS, etc), how to write proposals and reports, how to manage your finance and the best of all, how to have fun in the most enriching way! So let's take a look at the events: 1. Sports Bazaar This is an event that allows our member clubs to showcase themselves and at the same time raise funds for the club! There are two bazaars in one office term (tentatively one in April 2010 and another September 2010). The scale of this event is relatively small, but you've gotta think of creative ways to attract people to come to our bazaars! 2. NUS Biathlon This used to be an annual event until 2008 and we wanna bring it back in 2010! Tentatively planned for March 2010, the NUS Biathlon is a swimming-running event that will be held in our very own campus. A pretty large scale event that includes participants from the public! Definitely an exciting event to work for and you'd expect working with many different groups of people, such as sponsors, the Aquathlon team, etc. 3. RunNUS This is the Club's annual project and the biggest public event we have at the moment! If running is your passion, then this is definitely for you! Serving a crowd of more than 1500 participants, this event will definitely an excellent learning experience as you learn all the different aspects of events management! This event will be held in August/September 2010! 4. Sports Camp Sports Camp is inevitably the most looked forward freshmen social camp every single year! A 4D3N event that will give all incoming undergraduates the time of their lives doing a myriad of sporting activities with friends of like-minds. But this camp needs more than just an awesomely creative programme, but a skilful management of funds, no lack of credible sponsors and of course an event massive publicity campaign. Will be held in the month of June/July, this event will surely need stamina and determination! 5. Sports Ball This event will mark the end of office for the Management Committee! A night of appreciation for all the hardwork done and also to welcome the new committee into office. What the Sports Ball will be like, all depends on you! 6. Matric Fair & Open House This project is one of the most important events to kickstart the Club's publicity campaign to attract freshmen into Sports Club! It would require coordination with the various member clubs who would also be doing their respective publicity gigs. So the attractiveness of the Club with all our 25 member clubs rest in your hands! At this stage, all we need is your burning desire to take that one leap of faith to run for the posts! While prior experience would be helpful, we assure you that every single one of you will definitely be backed up with the resources you need to make these projects a great success! So what are you waiting for? Fill up the application form at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=u6jaNqe5ZU7ktXMhInHjqA_3d_3d now and we'd arrange an chit-chat session for you with the Special Projects duo! Opportunities may not come knocking twice. It's your time. Take the lead! |
