About NUS Biathlon 2010

- Sprint distance: 800m swim (50m X 16laps); 5km run loop
- Categories: Invitational & Open
- For Invitational, IVP teams from tertiary institutions
- For Open: individual men, women and mixed team. Only students and staff of tertiary institutions in Singapore - universities, polytechnics and institutes of technical education are allowed to participate. During payment, a verification of student/staff card will be done.
Pre-competition
Online registration
For invitational teams, sign up via our email in a excel format attached at the back with the title “IVP Team Registration”.
For Open category, please use online registration system on our website. Registration will be open from 15th Febuary until 12th March or when quota is reached.

Payment
We only accept cash payment. The price are as follow:
- $16 for NUS Early-bird (15 Feb-26Feb)
- $18 for NUS students (27Feb-19Mar)
- $20 for Open Category Participants (before 19Mar)
Indemnity form
It is required for ALL participants to complete the Indemnity form. Those who are above 18 can sign the form during registration or swim trial. Those who are below 18 are required to have their parent/legal guardian complete this indemnity form [PDF] [DOC] .
If you participated in previous swimming event and have the certificate, you can opt for exemption from the swimming trial. The form can be downloaded here .
Swimming Trial
All participants are required to swim 50m in 2mins in a swim trial on 6th March at NUS SRC pool. Participants are to look through race booklet given on that day and familiarise themselves with the race route and format. More details of the swim trial will be disseminated via email closer to date.
In case of inclement weather, organisers reserve the right to postpone/reschedule or cancel the event and no refund/compensation will be provided.
The second swimming trial to be on 13th March (Sat) 9-10am and 3-4pm.

Date: Sunday 28th March 2008
Time: 6:30am - 12:00pm
Registration
Participant should register 45 minutes before the wave timing or will be disqualified for the competition.
Race Route
- 800m swim in SRC swimming pool (16 laps). (For open mixed team, it is 800m in total or 400m for each team member.)
The 9 lanes will be changed to 10 lanes and each lane to accommodate two participants. Swim will be conducted in waves of 20 participants.
- 5km run around NUS
After changing into their running gear at the transition area, participants will start their run at the SRC car park and end at the foyer near the gym.

All participants receive pre-race kit, Goodie Bag and Finisher’s T-shirt.
For invitational category prizes:
- Top individual of men’s and women’s category
- Best IVP Men team
- Best IVP Women team

For Open category prizes:
- Top 3 individual men’s and women’s category
- Top mixed team
Others
The (swimming) cut-off timing will be 24 minutes for men and 28 minutes for ladies. This restriction is due to the limitation of the wave intervals.
