This event is open only for tertiary institutes’ students & staff. Participants need to verify with student/staff card at registration and on event day.
Each school can send up to 4 teams for the invitational categories: 2 men and 2 women. Each men’s team consists of 8 members; and each women’s team consists of 5 members.
For Open category, there are individual men, women and mixed team (1 man, 1 woman).
Participants are advised to seek medical advice if they have any pre-existing conditions. Declarations are to be made during registration and organisers reserve the rights to deny participation based on medical reasons up till event day.
Participants swim 800m in the pool (ie: 16 laps). A card will be placed in the water to indicate final lap. Participants exit the pool and head to transition area where their running shoes and shirts are placed in demarcated squares. Goggles and swim caps will be collected by volunteers and placed in individualized ziplog bags. Participants then begin a 5km run loop through Kent Ridge Campus and back to the Sports & Recreation Center.
For Open mixed team, each member will swim 400m (total of 800m) and run 5km together.
All participants must register 45 minutes prior to their wave at mpsh6 or risk being disqualified from the competition. Participants are to deposit bags at baggage area with the tag given in pre-race kit and their running equipment at transition area which will be opened 30minutes before each wave. Participants then head to reporting area beside the pool 15 minutes before the wave start time for a safety briefing.
Latecomers, if allowed to join another wave, should be aware that their timings would have commenced as per original wave start time.
Participants are divided into 20 waves and timing will be taken with a positional card given at the end point. Note: Determination of waves is dependent on swim trial timings.
For invitational teams, top 5 timings in the respective men’s category and top 3 timings of the members in the corresponding women’s category will be computed into the team score. Overall best team timing is the sum of the men’s and women’s team.
For Open mixed team, the slower timing between the two members will be taken. Officials’ decisions are final in the event of any disputes.
All participants receive pre-race kit, Goodie Bag and Finisher’s T-shirt.
